All Shields Checklist Overview

The checklist is located below this introductory text.

This checklist lists every Shield and Torch in Elden Ring and Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

This checklist follows the order of the in-game inventory. You can directly compare it to your Elden Ring inventory to see what you're missing. This is the most useful order for any completionist.

Shields: Key Information

In this checklist, we list all Shield Weapons. See also the Ranged Weapons Checklist (for Bows, Seals, Staves...) and Weapons Checklist (for Swords, Katanas...).

For one reason or another, Torches are also part of the Shield inventory card in Elden Ring, which is why we also include them here.

All Shields are sorted into weapon classes (e.g. Small Shield, Thrusting Shield...), which usually also decides their moveset and general characteristics.

They can be found around the world, dropped by enemies or rewarded for progressing a certain questline. They are upgraded using Smithing Stones and Somber Smithing Stones.

Weapons: 100% Completion Information

The Weapons group of checklists, consisting of Weapons, Ranged and Shield Checklists, require a few clarifications:

Many Weapons are missable; we mark missable Weapons in their descriptions. The most common reasons are taking the wrong Remembrance reward (duplicate Remembrances at Wandering Mausoleums help) or burning the Erdtree, which locks part of Leyndell with enemies needed to farm weapon drops.
We only mark NPC questline-related weapons as Missable if there is a special step or decision apart from carefully completing the questline.
A large portion of Weapons must be farmed from enemies. For every such weapon, we list the most convenient farming route.
If a Weapon has multiple sources, we always list the most convenient: pick it up > questline > farm. Earlier in the game is also more convenient than later.
The listed location is our recommendation, not the only source in the world.

All Torches

The first group of Shields, in the order as seen in Elden Ring's game inventory. Funnily enough, these are Torches. They primarily serve as a light source, but some have repelling or different additional effects.

There are 8 Shields in All Torches.

		Ghostflame Torch Region: Siofra River Site of Grace: Fort Haight West Shield	Descend into the Limgrave crater leading to Nokron. Progress until you reach the first rooftop. There, stop and spot a pillar on your right across the gap. You need to jump across this gap and follow the path to reach it. Location of Ghostflame Torch:

		Nanaya's Torch (DLC) Region: Abyssal Woods Site of Grace: Midra's Library DLC Shield	Step 1: From Midra's Library site of grace, take the west exit and drop down using the bookshelves and take the eastern exit from the room. Immediatelly turn right to spot an illusory wall. Go through, turn right again, go up the stairs and a ladder. Activate the lever. Step 2: From the lever, jump through the broken railing to the platform across and then jump agan north. Run west, jump across the gaps and follow the broken wooden floor to the dead corpse with the Nanaya's Torch. Location of Nanaya's Torch:
		Lamenting Visage (DLC) Region: Charo's Hidden Grave Site of Grace: Lamenter's Gaol DLC Shield	In Lamenter's Gaol, go acquire the Lower Level Gaol Key in the pot room. Then head to the stairways area and take the eastern exit on the first floor. At the end of this hallway is an illusory wall with a locked gate behind it. Inside the room is the Lamenting Visage. All Small Shields

The second group of Shields, in the order as seen in Elden Ring's game inventory. Small Shields offer the least protection, in exchange for a low weight. They are usually used as a tool to Parry enemy attacks.

There are 19 Shields in All Small Shields.

		Smoldering Shield Region: Volcano Manor Site of Grace: Prison Town Church Shield	From Prison Town Church site of grace, jump onto the rooftops, go west and spot a wooden bridge between the roofs. From there, go down and out of the archway. There, go right and drop down, then head north along the lava. Find the shield between the Jars. Location of Smoldering Shield:
		Coil Shield Region: Volcano Manor Site of Grace: Volcano Cave Shield	In Volcano Cave, find a hole and drop only ONCE, then go into the tunnel and find the Coil Shield guarded by Demi-Humans. Location of Coil Shield:
		Smithscript Shield (DLC) Region: Ancient Ruins Site of Grace: Taylew's Ruined Forge DLC Shield	In Taylew's Ruined Forge, head left, take the ladder down, jump the gap, jump onto the pipe and climb it up. Then go to the left balcony, into the doorway and up the fallen pillar on the right. The Smithscript Shield is guarded by a Golem. Location of Smithscript Shield:
		Shield of Night (DLC) Region: Scadu Altus Site of Grace: Bonny Gaol DLC Shield	In Bonny Gaol, progress until you get to the Jar elevator. Jump onto it, take it down, but don't leave it. It will return you up, higher than before, which is where you'll find the Shield of Night. Location of Shield of Night:

All Medium Shields

The third group of Shields, in the order as seen in Elden Ring's game inventory. Medium Shields are the balanced option, they generally aren't great at parrying or tanking damage, but they don't weigh much and are still fairly mobile.

There are 31 Shields in All Medium Shields.

All Greatshields

The fourth group of Shields, in the order as seen in Elden Ring's game inventory. Greatshields are the tanky option, mostly used for hiding behind them and absorbing enemy attacks.

There are 27 Shields in All Greatshields.

		Icon Shield Region: Altus Plateau Site of Grace: Bower of Bounty Shield	Inside the northern house of Woodfolk Ruins, northeast of the Minor Erdtree. Location of Icon Shield:
		Golden Beast Crest Shield Region: Liurnia of the Lakes Site of Grace: The Four Belfries Shield	Take the second belfry portal (Precipice of Anticipation) to get to Chapel of Anticipation. Defeat the Grafted Scion boss. Location of Golden Beast Crest Shield:
		Manor Towershield Region: Stormveil Castle Site of Grace: Secluded Cell Shield	From the Secluded Cell site of grace, go west and uphill, then turn around and move on the left ledge, back towards the grace. At the end, jump onto the copper ledge and follow it to the southern windows. Past there, immediatelly turn right and go up the stairs, there left and into another passage. You'll arrive to a staiway room with a few Commoners, go through and the Manor Towershield can be found on a balcony. Location of Manor Towershield:

		Dragon Towershield Region: Crumbling Farum Azula Site of Grace: Dragon Temple Rooftop Shield	Jump down and go towards the lightning dragon. Before the dragon and after you cross the bridge, head west and drop down using several platforms. Walk into the doorway east, follow the path and up the ladder. Then left and loot the chest. All Thrusting Shields

The fifth group of Shields, in the order as seen in Elden Ring's game inventory. There are only two Thrusting Shields in Elden Ring, and they are a part of the DLC. If you don't have the DLC purchased and at least one Thrusting Shield collected, you won't see this row.
