For Victory! is the ninth main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. It is a major turning point in the Trosky region: you attend Otto von Bergow's feast, then march toward
Nebakov Fortress. It follows Necessary Evil and leads into Divine Messenger.
Starting For Victory! locks out much of Trosky for a long time. Finish open side work first, including Demons of Trosky if you still need it.
Talk to Capon in the evening
Wait until evening (around 19:00 to 20:00). Find Hans Capon at
Trosky Castle, usually on the walkway overlooking the smithy. Speaking with him starts the feast and locks the questline.
Enjoy the festivities
Otto von Bergow and Chamberlain Ulrich greet you. You can negotiate with Bergow right away.
For the best reputation with Otto and Hans, pick the MEDIUM Speech option “We have the same interests” and stand up for Capon during the exchange.
After introductions, mingle for Speech XP. Talk to everyone else first, then Johanka, then Hans for the smoothest flow (see below).
All banquet activities
Press Bergow for more information: After the first scene, follow up with von Bergow for extra political context.
Bailiff Hanke Goathead
He and a friend mock you and Hans, then challenge you to a game of dice for 110 Groschen and a badge. You need 5000 total points. This is a tough roll.
Knight Herrmann Littlehead
He wants a prank: go to the Crone Tower (restricted area) and take a ring from an Easy locked chest.
The tower is guarded. At least three guards patrol; the one in the chest room has high Strength and is hard to choke out even at 16 Strength. Guards wake quickly after knockouts (about two real-time minutes).
If you struggle, knock out everyone you can, then loot the ring. If a knockout fails, kill your way out quickly.
Give the ring to Adela and say it is from “A shy friend” to avoid a duel and receive The Strength of the Knight III skill book.
Knights Olbram and Bor
They discuss lore about the bombard “The Finger of God” that Otto is bringing from Prague. Talk to them for extra diplomatic detail.
Black Bartosch
He shares gossip on guests and Otto. Speak again later for rewards tied to earlier quests if you found Old Nebak as a prisoner.
Romance Johanka
Finish other optional steps first: this path skips time forward.
Pass a MEDIUM Scholarship check to spend the evening with Widow Johanka. In follow-up dialogue, the Speech route works at low level; say the bailiff was right to punish you.
The scene is not explicit; time advances and you wake in the morning with only Hans's errands left.
Romancing Johanka is strong tactically: a long-lasting +2 to Strength, Agility, and Vitality.
Get the armor and wine
While the feast runs, Hans asks you to supply gear for the march. If you stayed with Johanka, this objective appears automatically.
Acquiring the wine
Go to the kitchen in the Maiden Tower. Speak with Cook Manyeta. Katherine is gone, but Manyeta will fetch wine if you help with a stuck spice chest. Pick the Medium lock on the chest nearby, report back, and collect the wine.
Acquiring the armor
Visit Blacksmith Osina at the forge. He claims to be out of stock. Pass a MEDIUM Speech, Charisma, or Intimidation check. If you fail, you can haggle for about 270 Groschen or start a fistfight for a cheaper set.
He can provide:
- Common Longsword
- Saxon Bascinet
- Smooth Cuirass
- Noble's Gauntlets
- Saxon Plate Legs
The march on Nebakov
Bring wine and armor to Hans in the morning, choose what to give him, and depart.
Follow the army toward Nebakov. Stock Marigold Decoction, Artemisia, or other heals and buffs; a hard fight is coming.
Ambush
In the ravine forest, bandits trigger an ambush: explosions and felled trees. After the cutscene, fight toward Ulrich. Clear the first pack and follow the road.
Save Ulrich
Ulrich is pinned under his horse while archers shoot from above. He stands, then takes a fatal shot.
He cannot be saved. Rushing ahead and clearing bandits early does not change the outcome.
Pushing to the mill
Follow Hans. Stay close: if Hans dies, you fail. High-level knights drop strong loot and Groschen if you loot fast.
Go right under fallen trees to skip barricades. Near the mill you meet archers: charge them in melee; they are fragile up close but deadly at range. More enemies arrive after that wave. Keep moving with Hans.
How to defeat the Victory bandits
Use Hans as a lure, circle enemies, and land three- or four-hit combos from behind while they focus on him. Master Strike helps a lot.
Duel with Zizka
At the road's end, Hans is hurt and surrounded. Bandits are led by Zizka (previously posing as Jaromier Nebak). You can spot Michael ready to shoot. To shield Hans, Henry challenges Zizka to a duel.
How to win: Zizka is a strong duelist and will Master Strike whenever he can. You do not need to drain his health bar: land several solid hits or about four Master Strikes to trigger the finale. Henry cuts Zizka's left eye.
That is one of the hardest combat stretches in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Next, the story switches to Father Godwin at the Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn, starting
Divine Messenger. See the Divine Messenger quest guide for the full walkthrough.
