All Bosses Checklist - Bloodborne

Bloodborne: All Bosses Checklist

All Bosses Checklist Overview

The checklist is located below this introductory text.

This checklist contains every boss in the Bloodborne main game. It does not include Chalice Dungeon bosses. The Mother Brain enemy in Nightmare of Mensis / Mergo's Loft is not a boss, despite several online sources claiming so, therefore we do not list it.

How to collect all Bosses in Bloodborne

Bloodborne features both mandatory and optional bosses. While the mandatory bosses must be defeated to complete the game, optional bosses sit in optional areas. Exploring thoroughly is essential if you're aiming to defeat every boss in a single playthrough.

It would not be accurate to say that Bloodborne has "secret" bosses. While a large number is optional, they are usually still the obvious final bosses of their locations.

The only exception would be the optional final boss for the Bloodborne True Ending, the Moon Presence, which requires consuming at least three Thirds of Umbilical Cords (there are four total on the map) to unlock.

Missable Bosses

The only possibly missable boss in Bloodborne is the True Ending boss, Moon Presence.

Fighting it requires consuming at least three Thirds of Umbilical Cord. While there are four total obtainable cords, two of them are missable, which means it is theoretically impossible to lock yourself out.

About Bosses in Bloodborne

Bosses are the primary milestones of Bloodborne, rewarding players with Blood Echoes, Insight, and, in many cases, unique items or progression to new areas. Most major bosses unlock the next part of the game, while optional bosses often guard valuable Caryll Runes, weapons, or other important rewards.

Bosses do not respawn after being defeated. Once a boss has been slain, the arena remains permanently cleared for the rest of the playthrough.

Defeating major Bosses progresses the Moon Cycle of the night, affecting time, night sky, visibility and NPC dialogue and quests. If you're going into Bloodborne blind, we recommend exhausting every NPC before each story Boss. To ensure you're not missing on any quest steps, visit the Bloodborne All Questlines Checklist.

Are any Bloodborne bosses missable?

The only possibly missable boss is Moon Presence, the True Ending boss. Fighting it requires consuming at least three Thirds of Umbilical Cord. There are four cords total, and two are missable, so it is theoretically impossible to lock yourself out of all cords.
