Subnautica 2: All Scannable Fauna Checklist

Checklist Overview

The checklist is located below this introductory text.

This checklist tracks scannable creatures you can encounter or catalog in Subnautica 2.

Key Information

Subnautica 2 has almost 50 different fauna types (fish types). The majority of fauna is peaceful. Some creatures can be especially aggressive, especially fauna reminiscent of sharks, orcas, parasites, or massive leviathans.

Peaceful fauna. A few creatures (fish, slugs) can be cooked and used as food or water.

Aggressive fauna. Distract attacking creatures with flares, or shoot them with a Sonic Resonator in the moment they charge at you. Small creatures will disappear instantly; larger ones get stunned. Late-game biomods can also help with defending yourself.

Not all fauna in Subnautica 2 is scannable. For example, Teal Cyclopet and Locust (among others) are present but not scannable or named in the game.
