Hollow Knight: Silksong All Achievements trophy needs at least two runs to complete, likely with many failed attempts in between. This guide with helpful and original tips will help you summit this challenge easily.
Use our All Achievements checklist to tick them off as you progress through your runs.
Run 1 - Spoiler-Free Experience
The first run doesn't really matter. You only need to complete the game to unlock Steel Soul mode, which will be your second run. We recommend the first run to be a spoiler-free experience where you fully enjoy this masterpiece of a game.
You'll be able to get all 100% Completion achievements in the second run, but you should still try to familiarize yourself with the difficult areas. One thing we do recommend here is to complete the Hunter's Journal. The second run should be more optimized and finishing every entry in the Journal is a time sink.
Pro Tip: Use our Hunter's Journal checklist to track all 237 entries during your first playthrough.
Completing all achievements in Silksong means that on your second run you will need to survive at least 12 hours, because the game includes a Steel Soul 100% Completion achievement too. Therefore, you need every tiny bit of knowledge you can get.
Make sure to reference our 100% Completion checklist to understand what items you'll need to collect in your second run.
Run 2 - 100% Steel Soul Speedrun
Start a run in Steel Soul. You need to complete the game (kill Grand Mother Silk) under 5 hours for the first Speedrun achievement. This is your first priority and the hardest part. After that, you just need to survive and reach 100% Completion, and kill Lost Lace in ACT 3 under 30 hours. 30 hours is easy and you will likely finish in 13 to 18 hours.
Don't worry if you don't succeed the first time. For many people, this will take 5 to 10 tries.
The main focus of this guide is all achievements regarding Steel Soul, Speedruns, Mr. Mushroom, True Ending and 100% Completion.
Recommended Order of Operations
We recommend doing things in this order:
1. Mossberries
At the start of the game in Bone Bottom, make sure to pick BOTH Mossberries in the first section. The second requires pogo-jumping off a Mossfly, then quickly hitting the fruit. In Mosshome, near the Moss Druid, pick the third Mossberry and exchange them for the Druid's Eye tool.
This takes almost no time and Druid's Eye helps a lot.
In Bone Bottom, make sure to buy the Magnetite Brooch, Mask Fragment and Craftmetal. You should have enough money when you unlock Bell Beast; just quickly travel here and back. In Deep Docks, make sure to buy and equip the Magma Bell from Forge Daughter near Lace.
2. Focus on Rosaries
Ignore most things along the path; you will come for them after you beat Grand Mother Silk. Only collect Rosary caches and unlock nearby Bellway Stations. Don't go out of your way for Shards, Fleas or other rewards.
Most guides will tell you that because you don't die, you don't lose Rosaries, therefore you will have plenty. This is not true - the nature of a Steel Soul run is that you skip a lot of hidden Rosary caches and won't have the opportunity to earn any during run-backs. Being in ACT 3 and needing 3,000 more Rosaries to buy out every merchant is a very possible scenario.
3. Don't Buy Benches or Maps
We also don't recommend paying for almost any bench in the first part of the game. It's not worth the price, and Rosaries will be a big limiting factor in this run. If you really, really need to buy Maps, then avoid doing so until ACT 2, where you can farm a lot of Rosaries easily. Spending Rosaries on Maps early will prevent you from buying everything you need along the way to the Citadel.
With benches, you can save some time with the bell-benches. When you strike the lever, quickly exit the room and enter back to skip a few seconds.
4. Craftmetal in Far Fields
At the bottom of the tall room with airstreams, there is a hidden path to the Warding Bell tool. Another hidden path there leads to a very dangerous area with a tempting reward - a Craftmetal. It is possible to get it later, but this area is out of the way and you'll be needing the Craftmetals soon. Some of the best Red Tools require a Craftmetal.
Help the Seamstress and then collect the Mask Fragment above her hut. Buy a Tool Pouch in Pilgrim's Rest. Avoid Hunter's March for now and go up to reach Greymoor.
Tip: Use our All Craftmetals checklist to track all Craftmetals throughout your playthrough.
5. Craw Arena
Do it now or later? That is your decision; it can definitely be a run-ender, but the rewards of Thread Storm (and Threefold Pin) are very good.
We recommend Thread Storm for most of the run. The house with Craw Arena also yields a lot of Rosaries.
Defeat Moorwing, cross Bellhart and focus on Shellwood. Defeat Sister Splinter, get Cring Glip and clear Bellhart up until Widow. To the left, there is a hidden path back to the bench with a Mossberry - in case you'd want to quit out when dying to Widow.
6. Widow
Widow is difficult enough to require some preparations. You should now be able to have 6 Masks. Mask Fragments #1, #2, #5 and #8 in our 100% Completion checklist are the easiest to get before Widow.
Consult the checklist for Spool Fragments too - but Silk should be mostly reserved for healing.
One more thing - with 6 Masks, clear Hunter's March and buy the Fractured Mask from Mottled Skarr, which will be equipped for the whole run, as it grants you a last-minute health point.
Defeat Widow and upgrade your Needle.
7. The Mist
The next goal is reaching the Citadel via Phantom to save a lot of time. Starting ACT 2 on this side of the Citadel is significantly better.
This is the hardest part of ACT 1. With 6 Masks, you have to get from Halfway Home Bench to Exhaust Organ Bench, with difficult terrain and poisoned water.
Suffer through Sinner's Road - we recommend skipping the broken bench entirely - you need to be good enough to sustainably kill all enemies along the way. Just next to the broken wall at the end of Sinner's Road, the large enemy is great for a lot of free Silk.
Cross The Mist using good positioning and well-timed dodges against the enemies - don't try to run from them; instead prioritize getting good position. Defeat Phantom.
8. ACT 2
You should have taken around 2 hours up to this point. This last section will take around 90 minutes without dying, leaving more than an hour to spare.
You can skip activating the Grand Bellway - you'll come back here after Trobbio soon. Sprint upwards to Songclave, activate the Bell and then go straight to the Cogwork Dancers, avoiding the Grand Reeds along the way.
Vaultkeeper's Melody
Use the Cogwork Core to reach the wheel from the east, cross Whispering Vaults (take the Pale Oil!) and open a way back to Grand Bellway above The Stage. Make a pit stop at Bellway - upgrade the Needle - and kill Trobbio.
Take the elevator down and first go left to Twelfth Architect. You now have the opportunity to buy the Cogwork Wheel if you like. Save 1 Craftmetal for Cogfly. Cross the Cauldron to activate the Ventrica lift, cross back and into the Cauldron to reach the Clawline ability. Exit, then go right of the elevator for the Vaultkeeper's Melody.
Architect's Melody
This is quick. Use the Clawline to reach the Cogwork Core - complete the jumping puzzle and reach the top part to get the Architect's Melody.
Conductor's Melody
Cross the Choral Chambers to reach High Halls. Go around the area, without any detours; only grab the Cogfly, which costs 1 Craftmetal. What now awaits is the feared High Halls gauntlet arena.
The arena takes about 5 minutes, then Grand Mother Silk is another 10 minutes. If you have time to spare and wish to, you can quickly run for Faydown Cloak. Simply cross The Slab and do the climb of Mount Fay, which is easily under 20 minutes. Then face the arena, get the melody - and, ultimately, defeat Grand Mother Silk, earning you the Speedrunner achievement and the Steel Soul achievement.
Key Achievements Unlocked
Speedrunner Achievement: Complete the game in under 5 hours
Steel Soul Achievement: Complete the game in Steel Soul mode
Reference our All Achievements checklist to track your progress.
9. 100% Completion
Now, with 6 Masks, you have to complete the game as much as possible before starting ACT 3. Use our 100% Completion checklist to see all available items in ACT 2 and collect all of them. Prioritize health and Faydown Cloak first.
- Get every Mask Fragment (9 Masks possible in ACT 2), all Spool Fragments, all Fleas, all Crests and all possible tools and Memory Lockets
- Upgrade at Eva as much as possible
- With at least 8 Masks, get the parasite from Greyroot - defeat Grand Mother Silk for an achievement - and only then cure it for the Witch Crest
- Get a Bellhome
- Move the Flea Caravan up to the Putrified Ducts
- Get all abilities
- Unlock the Green Prince's cell
- Buy out every merchant, buy every map from Shakra and collect other maps in ACT 2
- Do every quest including Delicacies of Pharloom for a Pale Oil - and, ultimately, Shakra's Wish: Trail's End and Steel & Soul
- Every other achievement not related to 100% Completion, Speedruns, Steel Soul or Mister Mushroom should be completed now
- This should take you around 12 hours. Then, after completing the Steel & Soul quest, defeat Grand Mother Silk to reach ACT 3
- Do everything possible in ACT 2
10. ACT 3
At the start, quit out and reload the game to face the Void Arena with full health. Defeat Bell Eater, talk with the Snail Shamans and enter The Abyss to get Silk Soar - don't miss the Farsight to see completion percentages!
On the surface, collect the remaining Masks first. Most of the ACT 3 content is optional - you can avoid Lost Garmond or Tormented Trobbio entirely, but the Pinstress, Broodmother and Outcast Gurr are a must-do. Before fighting anything, travel to Fleatopia to participate in the festival. Win all 3 Flea minigames to get a Pale Oil and upgrade the Needle.
For the 3 Old Hearts - the good news is that during the Memory sequences, where all bossfights happen, you cannot die - you will still respawn at the start of the sequence.
If you've talked to the Green Prince near the Cogwork Dancers boss arena, he will help you reach Verdania. After defeating the Clover Dancers, you get the Conjoined Heart. You can use this instead of the other 3 Hearts - but you still need two.
Nyleth and Seth are by far the easiest. Crust King Khann arenas take a lot of time and patience. Karmelita is easier to reach but very difficult. Ultimately, it is your preference - but fighting Karmelita is more convenient due to location. It avoids a lengthy trip through Sands of Karak and is near a necessary local quest with Sprintmaster Swift.
After verifying with your Farsight that you have the necessary 100% Completion, defeat Lost Lace.

11. Mister Mushroom
One last goodbye to Silksong. After defeating Lost Lace, you respawn back at the bench. Climb up, out of The Abyss, near Fleatopia, to start and complete Mister Mushroom's quest.
Finally, defeat Lace one last time for your final achievement.
Passing of the Age Achievement
Complete Mister Mushroom's quest and defeat Lace one final time to unlock the Passing of the Age 100% achievement.
