Grindstones - Key Information:
Grindstones are a type of special items that can be equipped to P's grinder. You can then choose to activate the special grindstones once per combat, which will temporarily apply a special effect to your weapon.
Grindstones are incredibly useful and should be one of the first things to look at when struggling with a boss. Using Flame, Electric Blitz or Acid Grindstones is always superior to using Fire, Electric or Acid Abrasives.
Other Grindstones have even stronger effects, allowing for easier parries (Perfect Guards) or Guard improvements.
All Grindstones are obtained at Venigni and Pulcinella. Apart from the first, Flame Grindstone, all others are unlocked by finding Venigni Collections and bringing them to Pulcinella.

Eight Grindstones: Flame (from Venigni), Electric Blitz, Acid, Indomitable, Destruction, Satisfaction, Durability, and Perfection. Most cost 1000 Ergo from Pulcinella after collections.
How do Venigni Collections unlock Grindstones?
Pulcinella's stock tiers by total collections delivered, not by which box you turn in. One collection unlocks early stones, two unlock Barren Swamp stones, three unlock Relic of Trismegistus stones.
Are Grindstones better than abrasives?
Elemental Grindstones (Flame, Electric Blitz, Acid) outperform single-use abrasives for damage types. Utility stones help guard, stagger, crits, durability, or Perfect Guard timing.
When can I equip Grindstones?
Use Stargazers to swap Grindstones like weapons. You get one active grindstone use per combat encounter before needing to rest or reset at a Stargazer.
