Exodus is the twenty-first main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, starting automatically at the immediate conclusion of The Feast (
The Feast). King Sigismund has ordered a brutal raid on the Jewish Quarter of
Kuttenberg to punish the population for assisting John of Liechtenstein.
Your primary objective is to reach the city swiftly, warn the residents, and help save as many innocent lives as possible.
For completionists tracking specific playstyles, note that a pacifist run is completely impossible to maintain during this quest. The script strictly forces you to kill the enemy soldiers who are actively searching the quarter houses for hidden citizens.
Travel to Kuttenberg
The quest begins at Raborsch Fortress right after the ambush. Kubyenka will arrive late to the scene driving a large travel wagon.
Climb aboard the wagon to prepare for the journey. While on the road, you can engage in optional banter with the entire group and speak extensively with Samuel about your father, Martin.
You can also choose to skip the dialogue, fast traveling directly to the north of Kuttenberg.
Into the Secret Tunnel
Upon arriving at the outskirts of the city, Samuel will take the lead to guide the group through a hidden path. Follow Samuel and John of Liechtenstein through an abandoned underground mine network that leads directly up into the Jewish Quarter.
As you navigate the secret passage, keep an eye out for a hidden chest along the tunnel walls which you can safely unlock to gather useful food consumables.
The secret path eventually opens up inside the cellar of the King Solomon's tavern. Upon reaching the main floor door, you will discover that Sigismund's murderers have already breached the quarter, evidenced by the dead body of a guard named Moses lying on the floor.
Clear the King Solomon's Tavern
You must clear out the attackers occupying the inn before moving into the streets. Walk up the stairs. Enter the pub room positioned on your right side to locate a murderer and eliminate him.
Before you climb to the top floors of the building, ensure you grab the following items from Samuel's bedroom, one floor above the main pub area:
- Locate his secure chest, which is protected by a Very Hard lock. Successfully cracking this lock rewards you with a Favourable die, a Mathematician's die, a Gold Doppelganger badge, and a Silver Doppelganger badge.
- Look at the main table inside Samuel's bedroom to pick up the skill book Master's Studies II.
Continue climbing up to the top floor of the tavern to confront three additional murderers. While these enemies are not well-armored and carry sub-par loot on their bodies, their rooms contain exceptionally valuable hidden items that completionists cannot afford to miss.
Escort Sara Through the Backyards
Once the interior of the inn is secured, step outside the front door to rendezvous with Samuel. A brief cutscene will play out where you, Samuel, and John of Liechtenstein discuss the sudden deaths of your regional friends. Liechtenstein decides to remain behind to hold the tavern, while Samuel requests that you quickly secure his mother from her nearby home.
Follow Samuel through the tunnel, but he will soon stop to help an injured friend and instead instruct Henry to help his mother. Go to the objective and move around the side of the house to find the side entrance.
Step inside to speak with his mother, Sara. At this stage, Samuel will become separated from you to manage a separate distraction, leaving Henry alone to escort Sara safely through the backyards.
Dealing with the Archers
Follow Sara through the connected backyard spaces, but you will soon be attacked by archers. Sara will refuse to move to the next safety checkpoint until these shooters are neutralized.
You can handle this obstacle in two distinct ways depending on your current gear inventory:
- The Ranged Method: If you have a bow or crossbow, take cover in the yard and shoot the archers down directly from your standing position.
- The Melee Method: If you do not possess a ranged weapon or ran out of arrows, quickly sprint into the alleyway positioned to the northwest. Locate the stone stairs leading up to the ramparts, climb to the top, and eliminate the archers using your sword.
Sara will move forward as soon as the archers lay dead. The next stop is a small house.
Fight Through the House
Keep following Sara eastward through the connected yards. She will eventually halt outside the specific house positioned closest to the local synagogue.
Enter the house. It has two murderers inside and you can see Samuel is also present.
Once the interior is clear, step outside into the main plaza to trigger a dramatic cutscene. Erik's units will break down the main quarter gates, flooding the plaza with heavily armed soldiers who begin cutting down fleeing civilians. Kubyenka will already be on the ground attempting to lead the defense.
Withstand the Final Onslaught
You, Samuel, and Kubyenka must stand firm outside the synagogue to form a protective line between Sigismund's army and the fleeing innocent people.
This final battle sequence operates on a hidden timer. Your core objective is simple survival rather than trying to aggressively maximize your kill count.
To survive the onslaught safely, follow these tips:
- Never engage more than two enemies at once and don't push forward through the alley; simply hold your ground and wait until the enemies push you.
- Fall back away from the initial choke point slightly to prevent getting surrounded by the heavily armored vanguard troops.
- Samuel and Kubyenka are completely unkillable during this scripted event. Actively use their physical models to block enemy pathfinding, draw aggro, and keep yourself from getting overwhelmed.
- Focus heavily on defensive parries and master strikes to preserve your stamina pool until the timer expires.
Once you withstand the assault long enough, a cutscene triggers showing John of Liechtenstein arriving with reinforcements. He helps cover your retreat, allowing everyone to fall back inside the building and escape the town through the secret tunnels alongside the remaining survivors.
The Aftermath and Martin's Past
Once your party successfully escapes past the city limits, you will find yourself in a safe rural zone outside Kuttenberg. Take this quiet opportunity to move around the camp and speak with the notable survivors, including Rabbi Jehuda, Samuel, and John of Liechtenstein.
To finalize the mission, locate Sara resting inside the nearby farm barn. Initiate a conversation with her to ask about your father, Martin the blacksmith. Sara will reveal their intimate history, explaining how they originally met long ago.
She notes that their personal relationship was strictly forbidden by society due to their deep cultural differences, which ultimately forced their tragic split. Concluding this emotional lore conversation officially completes the Exodus main quest and automatically kicks off the next major story chapter:
The Lion's Den.
Interesting detail: The city of Kuttenberg will be foggy the whole next day, covered in smoke from the fire in the Jewish Quarter.
This finishes the Exodus main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
