The Devil's Pack is the 15th main quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Now that Dry Devil is free, he needs you to reunite his scattered band of cutthroats at the
Devil's Den. This quest is essential for the story and grants The Dirty Seven achievement if you locate all members, dead or alive.
There is a missable task you should tackle first: Arrow-Head. Read our Arrow-Head guide so you do not lose it.
Getting started with Kubyenka
The Devil's Pack begins at the
Devil's Den. Speak to Kubyenka and exhaust every dialogue option to gather leads on the five missing comrades: Bohuta, Adder, Ranyek, Janosh, and Matthew.
Kubyenka provides general locations and hints for each, though he warns that some may have changed their ways or met unfortunate ends. Finding these men will not be easy, and every stop can take a while. We describe precise steps with best outcomes below.
While you can find them in any order, traveling in the order below is the most efficient.
Bohuta in Grund
Travel to
Grund to find Bohuta. During the day, he is usually working at the church cemetery.
Bohuta has undergone a religious conversion following the death of his brother and flatly refuses to rejoin the band.
However, he at least offers a lead regarding Ranyek, mentioning he was recently seen gambling in Pschitoky.
Bohuta will then ask you to join him in a prayer for the Devil's soul at his brother's grave.
If you agree, follow him around the church to a small grave near the wall.
If your Scholarship skill is at least 17, you can choose to correct his poor Latin, though this will lower your reputation with him and has no benefit. The best approach is to go along with it.
Bohuta will be pleased and gift you Bohuta's Map, which is a treasure map. If you instead insult his faith, he will attack you with fists.
Ranyek in Bylany
Head to the inn marked as objective, located between Pschitoky and Bylany, to speak with Innkeeper Wolfram Raus. He directs you further south to the village of Bylany and also provides a lead on Adder.
First, travel to Bylany, as finishing this branch is quicker. Once there, speak to the local dice players.
They will reveal what happened to Ranyek: he apparently died while trying to escape his gambling debts by crawling through the inn's cesspit.
If the players go with you: The gamblers will lead you to the sewage pit behind the inn and demand that you either pay Ranyek's debt of 700 Groschen or retrieve his famous bow as payment.
To find him, you must step into the waste and search near the center of the sewage. After three attempts, you will locate his body. You can loot Ranyek's Bow, which is an exceptionally powerful weapon.
Question them about where you are going and they will take offense and will not go with you. Go around the inn to find the cesspit and use the Examine button. Click it three times, then carry Ranyek's body out of the water and loot the bow without paying.
You will need to bury Ranyek this way. Picking him up to bury him will teleport you near Kuttenberg and finish this branch.
Adder in Pschitoky
To speak to Eva in Pschitoky, you first need the lead from the innkeeper in the previous step.
Before you head out, equip your most charismatic clothing to pass several skill checks.
First, speak to the butcher's wife, Eva, in the village of Pschitoky. You will immediately get the opportunity to pass the first high Charisma dialogue check.
If you pass, she will give you all the information she has and you will gain reputation.
Eva is distressed because her husband suspects her of being unfaithful with Adder and has taken the bandit east of Pschitoky to hang him.
You can ask Eva several more things:
- Choosing the first option and asking if she has slept with him will cost you reputation.
- Asking if her husband injured her leads to an option to give her
Painkiller Brew if you have it, for additional reputation.
You will find a lynch mob at a large tree and Adder in the middle of hanging. There are three possible outcomes:
Good ending: With high Charisma, as we recommended, you can resolve this without killing the villagers.
- First dialogue option: matters only for reputation.
- Second dialogue option: matters only for reputation.
- Third dialogue option: pass the Charisma check for the good ending. Failing leads to Bad Ending 2.
Telling them he belongs to the Lord of Suchdol is the most effective way to make them stand down. Do not give him the sword.
Bad ending 1: When he asks for a weapon to take revenge on the butcher, it is best to refuse. If you give him a sword, he will murder townspeople and your reputation will suffer.
Bad ending 2: Failing the initial Charisma skill check and having to defeat all the villagers from Pschitoky.
Once the villagers leave, act quickly to save Adder. Go near him until a prompt appears (which fails), then go to the tree and cut the rope there. Then approach him to untie his hands. After the rescue, Adder will return to the
Devil's Den.
If you have learned that the butcher abuses his wife, you can talk to him and insult him. After Adder is saved, you will get a lot of Speech XP.
Janosh in Miskowitz
In
Miskowitz, Janosh is held in the pillory for nearly killing a villager named Loyza. This is a timed objective; if you wait several days, Loyza will die and Janosh will be executed.
You need to solve this situation and there are multiple options.
Honorable option: The most honorable way to free him is to heal Loyza. You will need a bandage and
Buck's Blood, which can be found at Herbwoman Vlasta's house to the southwest or the Abandoned Shepherd's Dugout, which Innkeeper Treadlight can mark on your map.
Use your Craftsmanship and Alchemy skills to treat his broken ribs and breathing. Once Loyza is stable, the Bailiff will allow you to pay a fine of 500 Groschen to release Janosh.
Stealth option: If you prefer a stealthier approach, wait until nightfall to break Janosh out. You can pick the Hard-level lock on the pillory or steal the key from the guard or the Bailiff.
Once the lock is open, Janosh will go to the
Devil's Den.
Matthew the Collector on the road to Suchdol
Start by talking to the Miskowitz Bailiff, which starts the missable task
The Collector.
Matthew can be found on the road between
Suchdol and Miskowitz, where he is posing as a fraudulent tax collector. Matthew has no interest in returning to the pack.
Read our full The Collector guide for dialogue order, peaceful checks, and the night camp.
Before returning to Devil's Den
Before you return to the
Devil's Den, this is a good time for side content. If you want 100% completion, consider heading to Kuttenberg and working through optional content.
This is not the only good opportunity, but it is one of the few free windows in the Kuttenberg region (unless worry over Capon pulls you elsewhere). It is also one of the first good chances to start and finish many missable quests.
Use our KCD 2 side quests checklist and tasks checklist to track optional content.
Your forge from the Legacy of the Forge DLC is now unlocked, and you can start that DLC. Use our 100% Legacy of the Forge DLC checklist for full completion.
Finale and celebration
Whether the members you found are alive or dead, locating all of them fulfills the quest requirements and you will earn The Dirty Seven achievement.
Once all objectives are complete, return to the
Devil's Den and report to Dry Devil.
He will be pleased to have Adder and Janosh back and will insist on a celebratory night of drinking.
During the party, you can tell the group about the fates of Bohuta, Ranyek, and Matthew. After a night of singing and drinking, you will wake up with a hangover.
Speak to Dry Devil one last time in the morning to conclude the quest and prepare for the next stage of the journey.
If you have not finished
Into the Underworld, you will need to do so now. Otherwise the quest line moves into
Via Argentum.
