How to Unlock Seeking Justice

To unlock this task, you must meet specific criteria during and after the All's Fair quest:

  • You must have handed over all the stolen items to Pavel at the end of the previous quest.
  • You must not report Pavel to Captain Frenzl immediately.
  • Wait a few in-game days until you see a quest marker appear in LocationSuchdol.

Once the requirements are met, speak with Captain Frenzl in the courtyard of Suchdol. The marker does not have to appear; simply go talk to him. If the option "Do you need anything?" appears at the top of his dialogue list, select it.

Tracking Pavel in Kuttenberg

While the game suggests asking around the city and marks the whole Kuttenberg town area, you can save a significant amount of time by heading directly to specific locations.

Pavel has left a trail of stolen goods with various merchants across Kuttenberg. You can ask various merchants for information, but all will direct you to the Hole in the Wall tavern.

The Hole in the Wall

Your first main stop should be the Hole in the Wall tavern, located just outside the city walls in the southeastern part of Kuttenberg. Speak with the innkeeper, Mole.

To get information out of him, you will need to pass a medium-level speech check or pay him for the lead. He will reveal that a man fitting Pavel's description tried to sell him jewelry and a book.

The Scribe

Mole directs you to the local Scribe, Tietz Vetter, found in the town hall. Talk to him and ask about a hired hand trying to sell books. The Scribe will confirm Pavel visited him and suggest checking with the local cobblers, as Pavel mentioned looking for an apprenticeship.

The Cobblers

Head to the northern part of the city center. You will find two cobblers located next to each other. Speak with Linhart the Cobbler (the northern cobbler). The other cobbler will just redirect you to Linhart.

He will admit to taking on a new apprentice. This alone is enough to go back to Suchdol and report to Captain Frenzl. However, you should speak to Pavel and learn more.

Pavel and his Reasons

Go to the back of Linhart's workshop to find Hired Hand Pavel. Or, if it is evening, find him in the city. You have the option to speak with him before deciding his fate.

During this conversation, Pavel reveals his true motives: the story about the girl was a lie, and he used Henry to steal enough start-up capital to begin a new life in the city.

This interaction is optional and does not strictly change the final rewards, but it provides closure for completionists interested in the narrative.

If you passed the skill checks in All's Fair, Henry already knows this. If not, Pavel will reveal the truth here.

Optional: Recover the Stolen Items

If you are looking to really help Captain Frenzl, you can actually recover the items Pavel stole from LocationWysoka from the three aforementioned merchants:

  • Innkeeper Mole: Has the Gemstone rosary, Vejmola's medallion, and the Silver cake ring.
  • Scribe Tietz Vetter: Holds the Wysoka priest's alchemy book.
  • Linhart the Cobbler: Has Vejmola's New Shoes.

If the merchants do not directly sell the items, wait for night and search the chests in their houses.

Final Decision & Rewards

After finding Pavel, return to Suchdol to close the quest with Captain Frenzl. You are presented with a choice:

Final choice tell truth or lie to protect Pavel
  • Tell the truth: Tell the Captain that Pavel is hiding in Kuttenberg. This results in the standard reward of 100 Groschen.
  • Lie and protect Pavel: Tell the Captain that Pavel has fled to Prague. This still completes the quest but results in a lower reward of 60 Groschen.

Regardless of your choice, the quest concludes here. In any case, it is unclear what happens to Pavel later.

This finishes the Seeking Justice task in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
