Post Scriptum is a side quest in
Kuttenberg. It opens after Into the Underworld (
Into the Underworld). You forge a blackmail-style letter for angry miners, survive their double cross, then decide whether to back Markold, the diggers, or the Bailiff.
How to start Post Scriptum
Visit the tavern in the small inn just west of Kuttenberg's main gate (near
Kourimska Gate on the checklist). Speak with Kvyetoslav. He needs a literate scribe for associates and sends you to his “office” in the eastern quarter without details, which should read as a trap.
Write the letter
Armor up and have weapons ready before entering the meeting house.
Go to the home in the Miners' Quarter: enter through a gate in the fence by the eastern wall, go upstairs, and meet Ranyek and Myslibor.
Use the passphrase “Justice is worth more than silver.”
You can first attempt an optional skill check for a quick reputation bump when you arrive.
While scribing you may polish their wording (needs Scholarship checks) for better reputation, or simply write verbatim.
When the text is done the pair try to murder you. Attempt Speech or Intimidation first to skip the fight. If you slay them outright you lose branches that need them alive, so always try the social rolls.
Post Scriptum: all endings
Siding with the miners (best payout)
Carry the letter to Markold, the shaft owner. His townhouse sits between two cobbler shops on the grocers' street, west of the town hall. The yard is trespassing. Slip in fast, convince the bodyguard you belong, and head upstairs with the document.
Markold releases the miners he held and tells you to rendezvous at the northern gate.
If nobody waits at the gate, skip exactly one hour. Waiting longer can fail the quest.
Ride with them to the woods camp near Grund. Markold ambushes the group: defend the miners, drop Markold, then speak with Myslibor. Expect about 225 Groschen (boosted with a Speech check) plus a solid rep bump.
Siding with Markold
At Markold's house, choose to work with him against the miners instead of a straight delivery. You skip ahead to storm their camp. When the miners die, Markold pays you and the journal closes.
Turning miners in to the Bailiff
For the lawful line, bring the finished letter to the Bailiff at Kuttenberg Rathaus (town hall complex). He awards 100 Groschen and takes the investigation from there.
Post Scriptum FAQ
Do I need Scholarship maxed?
No. Polished lines are optional flavor. Verbatim writing still finishes the letter if your skill is modest.
Misclicked Markold?
Reload before choosing his betrayal if you wanted the longer miner finale and top Groschen.
