Absolver is a unique blacksmithing task found in Sigismund's Camp within the 
Kuttenberg region of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. It involves theft, forgery, and a moral choice between two soldiers.
This activity is available during 
The Lion's Den while Henry operates inside Sigismund's Camp.
Starting the Task
Locate Thomas of Kolin in Sigismund's Camp. He is often found sitting at the benches near the center of the camp or walking around the southern parts.
If you open with a passed High difficulty Thievery skill check, you will earn some reputation right off the gate.
Thomas of Kolin wants to steal a famous sword called "Absolver" from a Cuman named Basan. His plan is for you to steal the original, replace it with a fake, and give him the real one.
Stealing the Sword
Basan's tent is white with gold and green trim, located on the east side of the camp near the tournament arena.
Sneak into the tent (no need to wait for night; simply enter when nobody is looking) and lockpick the chest to obtain the real Absolver sword. With it, you'll also learn the "Replica of the longsword Absolver" crafting sketch.
There is also the option to inform Basan of Thomas's plan, but we don't recommend it, as the rewards are smaller.
Forge the Fake Sword
To create the forgery, you must visit a blacksmithing forge. You can purchase all necessary materials from the camp's smiths (the armorsmith has the hide, the weaponsmith has the metal components).
Materials needed:
- 1x Deer skin
- 1x Eight-sided sword pommel
- 1x Horned sword guard
- 2x Frankfurt steel
- 2x Iron
The Choice
Once you have the real sword and the replica, you have several ways to end the task. The game will give you optional objectives focused on what you hand Thomas and what stays in Basan's chest.
Give Thomas the Real Sword
Thomas is satisfied. You should return the replica to Basan's chest so he does not notice, or lie to Thomas and keep the original for yourself.
Give Thomas a High-Quality Replica
If the replica quality is Level 3 (Gold) or higher, Thomas will not notice the difference. As with the previous option, you should return the other sword to Basan's tent or lie to Thomas and keep it for yourself.
Note that if you plan to keep one sword, it is strictly better to actually keep the replica, if crafted at a high quality tier.

Thomas of Kolin will reward you with 607.7 Groschen if he believes he got the real sword and the replica is in Basan's chest. This finishes the Absolver task in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
