At Game Checklists, Expedition 33 is our most active community and checklist hub, with thousands of completionists tracking their progress item-by-item.
Across the entire game, we track all 1,161 unique items split across 17 distinct category checklists (like All Weapons, All Pictos, and All Outfits) and 42 location checklists, one for each level (or a group of levels).
Sandfall Interactive has also been keen to keep players interested with frequent updates, adding a few cosmetics here and there, like the few weeks old Anniversary Haircuts. With these stipulations in mind, let's dive into the list.
Methodology Note
To find out exactly what is most commonly missed, we analyzed progression data from over 4,000 dedicated completionists tracking their live game data on our interactive Expedition 33 Checklist and Progress Tracker.
We discarded most of the data and instead only focused on players who have already reached and marked the Root of All Evil Expedition Flag, the farthest point in the Verso's Drafts area, Expedition 33's latest and only location addition since the launch.
Think you've found them all? Track your live completion progress across all 17 categories on our comprehensive Expedition 33 Checklist, built by completionists and achievement hunters.
| Rank | Item Name | Global Discovery Rate |
|---|---|---|
| #1 | Gustave's Anniversary Haircut | 2.5% |
| #2 | Baguette Weapon | 6.0% |
| #3 | Simon the Divergent Star Rewards | 8.0% |
| #4 | Clea Unleashed and her Rewards | 11.4% |
| #5 | Maelle's Chic Haircut | 12.8% |
#1: Gustave's Anniversary Haircut (2.5%)
The Anniversary Haircuts were added in a free update only in April 2026, so it is natural most players don't have it yet. Veteran players either didn't have time or simply weren't interested to rejoin the game just for a few haircuts.
While the Anniversary Haircuts for Maelle, Sciel, Verso, Monoco and Lune are obtained by about 4.0–4.6% of players, Gustave's sits at only 2.5%.
The likely explanation is that Gustave's haircut is isolated from others and only available from an Act 1 merchant near Stone Wall Cliffs on The Continent. The rest of the expedition can buy theirs at the very popular Coastal Cave merchant, who is a very common source for general cosmetic items and frequently visited for other items.
#2: Baguette Weapon (6.0%)
No surprises here. The legendary Baguette weapon is the single most missable item in the base game and requires extreme dedication to obtain.
It is only unlocked in New Game Plus and to get it, players must meet a very tough requirement.
You need to carry a Festival Token, obtained at the start of the game, during the Expedition Festival, and play the whole game with it in your inventory. After starting New Game Plus, they can finally obtain the Baguette weapon for it.
The game actively baits you into spending tokens early. There are exactly three Festival Tokens in the opening area and exactly three merchants offering immediate rewards for them. Nothing in the game hints that you should instead keep the token for your next run.
Resisting the urge to spend everything right away and instead carrying the token into the unknown earns the weapon almost an easter-egg status, leaving 94% of completionists empty-handed.
#3: Simon the Divergent Star Rewards (8.0%)
Simon the Divergent Star is a rematch of the original Simon boss fight and is one of the bosses added in the Thank You Update. Many players don't realize that this update doesn't only focus on the new Verso's Drafts location, but also adds optional superbosses in Endless Tower.
Simon 2 is a brutal, high-tuned rematch of the original Simon boss fight. Standing as one of the ultimate superboss challenges in the game, it requires high character optimization, tactical skill and great reflexes.
His loot is owned by only 8.0% of tracking players, namely the Simon haircuts for Lune, Maelle, Sciel, Verso and Monoco on our All Haircuts checklist.
#4: Clea Unleashed and her Rewards (11.4%)
Clea Unleashed was added to Endless Tower in the same way as Simon the Divergent Star. She is considered among the hardest to beat and offers very significant difficulty even for very skilled Expedition 33 players.
Defeating her gives many rewards, including the Cleim weapon or Clea's Death Pictos, which are among the most rare items among thousands of our completionist players.
With Clea Unleashed and Simon the Divergent Star, the reason for low completion percentages isn't that the items are hidden, but simply, skill issue or low interest in these end-game superbosses.
#5: Maelle's Chic Haircut (12.8%)
Chic Haircuts and Outfits are very popular among Expedition 33 players and Maelle is a fan favourite character, which is why it is surprising to see Maelle's Chic Haircut as 5th most missed item.
However, Maelle's Chic Haircut is probably the most well-hidden item in the Thank You Update. You can get it anytime, but it is rewarded from the underwater marelle (hopscotch) puzzle past the Reverie Path expedition flag.
While most of the jumping puzzles are encountered at obvious spots, this one requires serious combing of the area and it is very easy to simply miss.
Looking at the data, it can be easily spotted that four out of the top five rarest items in Expedition 33 come from post-launch content drops rather than the base vanilla game.
While it's easy to conclude that players simply need more time to finish newer updates, the massive gap between Gustave's 2.5% haircut and the rest of the party proves that free cosmetics simply aren't enough for the majority of the players to reinstall and rejoin the game.
Think you've found them all? Don't guess your completion percentage. Track your live progress across all 1,161 items, weapons, bosses, flags and more using our comprehensive, interactive Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Completion Checklist Hub or the dedicated Expedition 33 Progress Tracker.
Methodology
