Pale Ores are used alongside Geo as payment to the Nailsmith for upgrading your Nail to levels 2, 3, 4. The first upgrade costs only Geo, the next 1 Pale Ore, the second 2 Pale Ores and the third 3 Pale Ores.
There are exactly 6 Pale Ores, as needed for all the upgrades.
Obtaining Pale Ores is not easy and straightforward (with the exception of Pale Ore #1), they all require planning, long treks, defeating a Boss or collecting Essence and Grubs.
