Charm Notches - Key Information
Charm Notches are a rare type of item you can collect, which will increase the capacity of your Charm slots.
You start with only 3 notches, can find additional 8, which amounts to 11 total Charm Notches.
Having more Charm Notches is essential for making specific builds focused on either using your Nail or Spells. Different Charms require different amount of notches, ranging from 1 to 4.
Picking up a new Charm Notch will fully restore your health.
Overcharmed
If you don't have enough Charm Notches, you can utilize the hidden Overcharm function. If you have 1 or more Charm Notches left and you need to slot an additional Charm you don't have capacity for, repeatedly mash the Charm to trigger the Overcharmed state. You will be able to wear the Charm that is above your notch limit, but will take double damage from every damage source.
This is not recommended in almost any case - the only exception we can reasonably recommend it is in Godhome, when fighting individual Bosses on Radiant fights, which means you are already losing the game if you take even one hit.
