Adaptations Overview
The checklist is located below this introductory text.
Adaptations are permanent survivor upgrades. Many come from healing Angel Comb sites. Pressure tolerance can appear at the very start of the campaign.
Adaptations essentially work as progress unlocks: they let you tolerate heat, extreme pressure, or consume unsafe food from the planet.
Key Information
Despite Subnautica 2 releasing with six Adaptation slots, only four adaptations are in the game: Pressure Tolerance, Digestion, Heat Tolerance, Axum Vision. Do not confuse these with biomods from the Biomods checklist.
The Endurance / Agility upgrades that expand your inventory and active slots are not adaptations. They are separate upgrades gathered by scanning terminals near certain Biobeds located across the world. Track all seven on the Biobeds checklist.

Effect: Grants Axum Vision. Where: Heal the infected Angel Comb in Alien Ruins. This comb is the most difficult one to complete: you need to visit three sites, each with two infected blooms that need to be destroyed. Follow the purple infected roots, sometimes more than 500 metres. One bloom is fairly close; the second is in a massive cave; the last is under a Cicada Wreck you must enter and find your way through to access. ![]() |
