Bellatores Quest Guide | Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Bellatores is a side quest starting in Bylany, a town southwest of Kuttenberg, available after completing the Speak of the Devil main quest.

This is a start to a larger Bellatores questline, followed by two more quests.

To begin, speak with Jan Posy of Zimburg standing at the front of the local tavern.

Knight Jan Posy of Zimburg will explain that he is looking for help in his military expedition to reclaim the Ruins of Zimburg, because he is their heir. However his group got ambushed and he is currently alone. The first step is to follow him to the site of ambush.

Important: If you accept this quest, you must follow Jan on horseback immediately. Failing to stay with him during the ride will result in quest failure.

The Ambush Site

Follow Jan to a battleground where his company was ambushed. The final location is south of Zimburg and west of Danemark, in the same river valley. Upon arrival, you will find looters picking over the corpses.

Jan will move to kill them unless you intervene by passing a Persuasion or other skill check. You need to respond "Negotiate" to the prompt and then select "Don't kill them". They seem peaceful and there is no need to end their lives.

While investigating the area, you must locate a dead priest, who can be found off the main road, resting against a tree near the river.

You can also pick up the Balshanka polearm near the cart, although it's not the best of poleaxes.

After reporting your findings to Jan, follow him into the woods.

You will encounter a woman named Fiolka, who reveals that the Cumans are using the abandoned Posy family castle (Zimburg ruins) as a hideout.

Assault on Zimburg

At the ruins, you must decide on a plan of attack:

Frontal Assault: You and Jan charge in together. This is difficult as you will face approximately 8+ Cumans at once. Using Bane poison and combat buffs is highly recommended.

Wait for Night: By passing a Medium speech check, you can convince Jan to wait until nightfall. You can then choose to attack Zimburg directly or with stealth, which we recommend as your approach.

You can then enter the camp alone to assassinate the guards while they sleep. Take down the two guards on the left side, then rush to quickly kill a sleeping guard on the left (top platform). Only with this the combat will be much easier.

This is the easiest method, as roughly half the camp will be unconscious. If they will spot you, the quest will switch into the assault.

Once the Cumans are defeated, head to the underground tunnel/ruin on the southern side of the camp to find Miroslav "Tugbone" of Zimburg. Untie him to trigger a cutscene.

Rewards

Jan will reward you with 500 Groschen. Additionally, the area is rich in loot; ensure you check the dead bodies and the two chests (Medium and Hard) in the camp for high-value gear.

Jan will ask you to check back in a few days to start the follow-up task, Skeleton in the Closet.
