All Expedition Journals Overview

There are a total of 49 Expedition Journals in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, this checklist covers all of them. All Expedition Journals are necessary for 100% completion and the Follow the Trail achievement.
Expedition Journals are lore collectibles scattered across the world. They tell the stories of previous Expeditions and shed light on the history of the world.
Where to get all Expedition Journals in Expedition 33
Most Expedition Journals are found lying on the ground in various locations across the game. Some are hidden in hard-to-reach places that require Esquie's abilities (Fly, Swim, Underwater Swim) to access.
While most Journals can be collected at any time, the "Survivor" Journal requires planning in the Prologue. You need to obtain the Old Key during the Expedition Festival in the Prologue to access it later in Old Lumiere.
Are any Expedition Journals missable?
No Expedition Journals are permanently missable. The Survivor Journal in Old Lumiere is a common source of confusion because it requires the Old Key. Originally, the Old Key could only be purchased from a merchant during the Expedition Festival in the Prologue, making it easy to miss.
Since the Thank You Update, a second copy of the Old Key was placed in Lumiere Act III. When you return to Lumiere for the final act, climb the first staircase from the docks and check the left side. The key sits on the ground near a stack of wooden crates. Pick it up and backtrack to Old Lumiere to unlock the Survivor Journal.
