The Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition DLC arrived on all platforms on August 27th/28th, along with a large pre-launch patch.
This article lists every new item in this update for players and dedicated completionists. Use it to efficiently get everything offered in the Tarnished Edition.

New Weapons & Armor Sets
The Tarnished Edition comes with four brand new armor sets, including 4 new weapons and 1 shield. Two are available from starting classes and two are dropped from invaders around the world.
Idus Knight Set
This is one of the two sets that are accessible from the start, as new starting classes.
- Idus Sword (Light Greatsword weapon type)
- Silver Grooved Shield
- Silver Grooved Helm
- Silver Grooved Armor
- Silver Grooved Gauntlets
- Silver Grooved Greaves
Where to get the Idus Knight Set
Obtained from the start with the Idus Knight starting class.
The armor pieces and the Silver Grooved Shield can also be bought from the Nomadic Merchant near Bellum Church in Liurnia of the Lakes.
The Idus Sword is located near the Liurnia Lake Shore Site of Grace.
Heavy Knight Set
This is one of the two sets that are accessible from the start, as new starting classes.
- Hefty Scimitar (Curved Greatsword weapon type)
- Steel Helm
- Steel Armor
- Steel Gauntlets
- Steel Greaves
Where to get the Heavy Knight Set
Obtained from the start with the Heavy Knight starting class.
The armor pieces can also be bought from the Isolated Merchant in Weeping Peninsula.
However, the Hefty Scimitar is from a different merchant: the one in East Limgrave, north of Fort Haight.
Leontiel Set
This set can only be obtained by defeating an NPC invader in Caelid.

- Leontiel’s Boots
Where to get the Leontiel Set
You first need to defeat Starscourge Radahn. The invasion can then happen in his arena, specifically a bit to the northeast, close to the ruined structures. This is the only way to obtain the Leontiel Set.
Leontiel’s Greatsword is a new greatsword requiring 13 Strength and 26 Dexterity. It has a unique Ash of War: Muleta, which circles around an enemy fast, granting about 20 invincibility frames. It is distantly similar to Ash of War: Blind Spot.
Golden Order Set
MISSABLE: The Golden Order set can only be obtained by defeating an NPC invader in Leyndell, which is possible only before the area turns into the Capital of Ash (which happens after burning the Erdtree).

Where to get the Golden Order Set
Only obtainable from a specific invader: walk to the large Radagon/Marika statue in Leyndell (before it turns to Capital of Ash), where you perform the Law of Regression gesture.
An NPC invader, The Noble Broken Mask, will invade you. Defeat him for the Golden Order drops.
Reverse-Bladed Sword
A fifth weapon, previously unannounced. The Reverse-Bladed Sword is a Backhand Blade and doesn’t have an armor set to go with it.
It is sold by the Twin Maiden Husks in Roundtable Hold.
Reed Great Katana
A sixth new weapon, previously unannounced. The Reed Great Katana is the first Great Katana that is available in The Lands Between and not in The Realm of Shadow. It comes with the Overhead Stance Ash of War.
Where to get the Reed Great Katana
In Dragonbarrow, directly north of Fort Faroth.
Ritual Thrusting Shield
The last new weapon is a thrusting shield with the Shield Strike skill equipped. It requires 13 Strength and 12 Dexterity to wield.
Where to get Ritual Thrusting Shield
It can be picked up at the Caelid colosseum, accessible from the Siofra River Well Site of Grace.
New Torrent Horse Skins / Armor
The Tarnished Edition DLC also adds three paid Spectral Steed Regalia, or simply put, horse skins for Torrent. This is a new item type in Elden Ring and the base game doesn’t have a comparable item.
You can change Torrent’s attire at any Site of Grace via an option in the Site of Grace menu.
Spectral Steed Regalia: Tree Sentinel
Can be found inside Stormveil Castle, in a room after defeating Godrick the Grafted.
Spectral Steed Regalia: Carian Silver
Can be found in Liurnia of the Lakes, in a chest inside Ranni’s Rise.
Spectral Steed Regalia: Funereal
Can be found in Altus Plateau.
Other items useful for completionists
An Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone was added to Fort of Reprimand (Shadow of the Erdtree DLC) in a new chest in the exterior section.
